Rescue Center Rescuing Cat of the Day: Meet Daniel: One cat with two eyes, one nose, and twenty-six toes.
That’s nearly three for every one of his lives!
The orange-and-white tabby, whose gift comes from a genetic mutation called polydactylism, has been using his superpowers for good, helping the Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center raise money to move out of their soon-to-be-too-expensive space inside a Milwaukee-area mall, and into a new location.
So far Daniel has helped the shelter raise $50,000 in increments of $26 per donor (one dollar for every toe), and the nonprofit is on track to raise a total of $120,000 by December 23rd.
Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center owner Amy Rowell rescued Daniel from animal control this past October.
He was scheduled to be euthanized before Rowell snatched him up.
“I’ve always been a firm believer that everything happens for a reason,” Rowell said, “and this is definitely the case.”
